On that day, people in rich dresses hold a ceremony to offer sacrifices to the mountain divinities, immortal cave and Yumani Sutra to pray for an abundant harvest of all food crops and the domestic animals are all thriving. February 8th by The Lunar Calendar As the liveliest festival of Naxi nationality, tens of thousands of people far and near go to Baishui Tableland to take part in it. People will kill chickens as the sacrificial offerings to the God and different divinities, and give performance of singing and dancing. Torch Festival On the night of 24th of the 6th lunar month, the Yi, Bai, Naxi, Lahu, Hani, Blang, Lisu, Primi, and Jino people light up torches and line up for a parade, lusheng (a local reed-pipe wind instrument) and yueqin ( a local stringed instrument) performances, singing, and dancing, as well as such games as wrestling, bullfight, archery, and horse racing.
