Transportation in Huangshan
Getting There By Air Huangshan Airport (TXN) is located in west Tunxi District, 5 kilometers (about 3.1 miles) from the downtown area with flights to Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Haikou, Hefei, Tianjing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, Guilin, Kunming, Xiamen, Zhuhai, Macau, etc. There is no international flight from Huangshan City. You can take a taxi or the airport bus from Huangshan Airport to Tunxi downtown. From the downtown take a bus to the gate of Mt. Huangshan (RMB 13). Then transfer buses to access one of the two entrances to Mt. Huangshan: Merciful Light Pavilion (RMB 10) and Cloud Valley Temple (RMB 10). Airport Inquiry: 953 4111 By Train There is Wan-Gsan railway line (from Anhui Province to Jiangxi Province) pass through Huangshan City. Many trains run directly to Beijing (about 19 hour's journey), Shanghai (eleven or twelve hour's journey), Nanjing (five to eight hour's journey), Guangzhou (about 19 hour's journey), Hefei, Jingdezhen, Nanchang (eight or nine hour's journey), Xiamen (about 23 hour's journey) and Fuzhou (14 or 15 hour's journey). If you visit southern China first, you can transfer at Hangzhou. If you come to Huangshan City from northern China, Nanjing is your best transfer stop. Huangshan Railway Station is located in Qianyuan Bei Lu, downtown Tunxi District. Bus in Huangshan Railway Station is set out once per five minutes to Mt. Huangshan Scenic Spot Bus Station during the daytime. By Bus Mt. Huangshan is 2 hours drive from Huangshan City, which is normally called Tunxi District. Minibuses to Tunxi leave from the bridge area in Tangkou with Y13. Huangshan City Bus station is situated in Huangshan Dong Lu, it is about 10 minutes on foot from the railway station. Huangshan City is connected with Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Hefei, Mt. Jiuhua and Jingdezhen by national highways, and also Hui-Hang (from Anhui Province to Hangzhou City) highway, Hefei-Tongling-Mt.Jiuhua-Mt.Huangshan highway, the round-Mt.Huangshan-highway and Mt. Huangshan-Jingdezhen highway form an efficient network for Huangshan City. Getting Around Bus Huangshan City (Tunxi) Railway Station and Bus Station all have buses to Mt. Huangshan Scenic Spot (Tangkou). Huangshan City Bus Station is 64 kilometers (about 39.8 miles) from Mt. Huangshan Scenic Spot Bus Station (Tangkou Town). Take the bus leaving form Huangshan City Bus Station to Mt. Huangshan Gate, then change buses at the gate to one of the two entrances to Cloud Valley Temple (Yungu Si) and Merciful Light Pavilion (Ciguang Ge). In addition, there are coaches directly to Shexian setting out from Mt. Huangshan Scenic Spot Bus Station (Tangkou Town). Taxi Taxi fare is RMB 5 for the first 3 kilometers (about 1.9 miles), then RMB 1.5 for each extra kilometer (about 0.6 miles).
