Climate and Weather Huangshan City is located in the subtropics, has a wet mild monsoon climate, annual average temperature ranges from 15 C (59 F)-16 C (60.8 F). Heaviest rainfall often occurs from May to August; most areas are free of severe winter cold. The comfortable weather offers good opportunities to travel throughout the year here. Huangshan lies in subtropical zones, it's not quiet cold in winter, at least, not such cold as some people expected. The temperature ranges from 25 °F to 40 °F, but it's enough to result in fantastic snow scenery and a silver world with pines and precipitous peaks covered with snow and decorated with icicles. As the temperature on Mt. Huangshan is often about 10 C (50 F), and windy, you need to bring a coat even in summer although some hotels do offer overcoat rentals. If you go to Mt. Huangshan in winter, bring warm clothes please. It is always wise to check the weather report the day before. Best times and locations for you to see the sunrise on Mt.
