Tang San Cai, Tri-Colored Glazed Pottery of the Tang Dynasty
Luoyang Tang San Cai, Tri-Colored Glazed Pottery was the essence of Tang dynasty art. In the ancient Tang Dynasty over 1,300 years ago, people glazed tomb figures, pottery with three main colors, red, green and yellow. So later, people called these multi-color glazed items Tang San Cai. The yellow, green and red glazed ceramics are fired at high temperatures to give the finished porcelain an amazing colorful pattern. Products slimmer in shape were fired during the Qin Dynasty, and a fuller ones were popular during the Tang Dynasty. The most popular subjects are the horse, camel and human figures.
Luoyang Palace Lantern
Luoyang Lantern first appeared in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). After he unified the country and established his dynasty, Emperor Guangwu ordered beautiful lanterns to be hung to celebrate this grand occasion. This kind of lantern could only used in royal court but it later spread widely among the populace. They are many kinds of lanterns and the most popular is the red gauze round lantern, which is famous for its beautiful shape, exquisite calligraphy and painting. Other commonly seen types of lanterns include Newsday & Luoyang Palace Lanterns which are used as auspicious ornaments. A Palace Lantern show is held each April to accompany the annual Peony Festival.
Luoyang Bronze ware
Luoyang was one of the first places to make bronze ware in the prehistoric Xia Dynasty. Massive bronze ware production appeared in the Western Zhou Dynasty (11th century-771 B. C.). At present, the researchers at the Luoyang Arts & Crafts Co. have developed new techniques for bronze ware production. The researchers of the Luoyang Arts and Crafts Company have created new techniques. The representative works include "A Galloping Horse on a Flying Swallow", and "Rhinoceros". These products have been displayed in New York and San Francisco, and are the best seller at the Guangzhou Trade Fair.
Ru Porcelain
As one of the five famous varieties of porcelain in the Song Dynasty, Ru porcelain is produced in Ruzhou. The imitations of ancient porcelain ware by the Ru Porcelain Factory of Linru County have been well received at the domestic and international markets due to their high quality and bright colors.
