Transportation in Luoyang
Getting There By Air Luoyang's airport is located about 13 kilometers northwest of the city. You would do better to fly into or out of Zhengzhou. There are daily flights operating to Beijing and Shanghai. Flights to Chengdu and Xi'an and a few other places leave less regularly. There is no public bus service between the city proper and the airport. CAAC shuttle buses serve passengers between the CAAC building and the airport but they are not frequent. Taxi is a much more convenient option. There is usually stream of taxi stopping in front of hotels for passengers. A ride to the airport via taxi costs about 30 yuan. By Train Luoyang’s significant role as a major stop along the Lanzhou-Shanghai railway makes train travel the most convenient way to reach Luoyang. Most trains from major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Xiamen along the Lanzhou-Shanghai line stop at Luoyang Railway Station. Direct trains between Luoyang and Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou are available. Luoyang Railway Station is located at the corner of Jingguguan Lu and Daonan Dong Lu in the northern part of the city. Public buses No. 2, 4, 5, 11, 66 runs to the railway station. By Long Distance Bus Luoyang Long Distance Bus Station is opposite the train station and at the corner of Jingguyuan Lu and Daonan Lu. Buses from Luoyang to the neighboring areas including Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Sanmenxia, and the long-distance buses going farther to Shijiazhuang, which is the capital city of Hebei Province; Baoding and Beijing are easily accessible. Getting Around Public City Bus There are many tourist buses paying the main sights in and around the city. As a well-developed tourist city, Luoyang boasts convenient transportation. The bus system runs untial 8pm or 9 pm. Most buses charge CNY 1 but without air conditioning. Those air conditioned buses charge CNY2. Taxi Taxis and yellow minivan cabs start at CNY6. motor-richshaws are a good way to get around and start at CNY2.
