Located on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, Hubei stands in the center of China. As the capital of Hubei, Wuhan is the communications hub of central China. Its local products include blunt-snout bream red bolts of Chinese cabbages, Mahong cakes, Xiaogan sesame candies, turquoise carvings, Yellow Crane Tower wine and Green Brick tea.
Blunt-Snout Bream is a special fresh-water fish with lovely figures, delicious taste and rich nutrition. Late Chairman Mao once wrote his feeling in a poem after he tried the dish, which made the fish ever more famous both at home and abroad.
Enamel Golden Chime: They are copies of ancient bronze chimes with new production techniques such as pierced work and bas-relief. The entire article embraces grace of ancient relics and modern charms as well.
Gao Hongtai Copper Gong: The gong is the traditional product of the Wuhan Gong Factory with a history of 70 years. They made a grand gong with diametre of 135 cm for the German Berlin Symphony Orchestra in 1979.In 1995 the German Hungrica Symphony Orchestra especially visited the factory while they played in Wuhan, and ordered more than ten percussion instruments and a grand Gao Hongtai Gong.
Honghu Lake Feather Fan is a traditional handicraft product made of feathers of various birds and fowls living in Honghu Lake. Bamboo, ox bone and ivory are used in making the ribs and a fan pendant is tied with a silk thread for decoration.
Wuhan Copper Gong Round with loud sound, the instrument can provide excellent background music in Western symphonic performance or jazz music. They are sold to more than 20 countries and regions.
Lusong Jade Sculpture: Lusong Jade is a rare jade shaped like green nuts. The best one is "Yungai Jade" mined from YunCounty in Hubei. The elegant articals sculptured by Yungai Jade by Wuhan Jade Sculpture Workshop is a kind of special antiques.
Jing Wu's Duck Neck: Wuhan people consider duck neck a delicacy. The spicy duck neck is cooked with pepper and spices and stewed in a low fire, resulting in strong taste and a lingering flavor. Jing Wu, the most famous shop that sells it, has been interviewed by several TV stations in China.
Turquoise Turquoise means "Turkish stone". The Sky blue to bluish green Turquoise is porous, so contact with liquids, oils or even perspiration should be avoided. Jewelry made with turquoise should be removed before washing hands, etc. The pure blue color is rare, most stones contain the matrix from which it was found. Although the stones without matrix are rarer and more valuable, many people find the black matrix attractive, and makes the stone unique.

Hanjiang Walking Street
Another featured street is a famous walking street near Hanjiang Lu in the town center. One hundred seventy-seven meters (252 feet) longer than the famous Nanjing Lu walking street in Shanghai, Hanjiang Lu is very popular.
Over 200 stores and shops housed in traditional buildings sell a complete selection of clothes, appliance, food, commodities and other goods. Five squares in different style are arranged along this street with greenery, springs, cafes and bars. Along the street are buildings that housed old banks, stores and statues depicting the everyday life of the people in Wuhan. Everything on the street tells the history of the city. Hanzhengjie Small Commodities Market
Being the origin of Hankou district and having a history for more than 500 years, this commercial district is one of the oldest streets in Wuhan. Located on the north bank at the join of the two Rivers and enjoying the advantage of the golden water course, it has the convenience of 18 docks handling river cargoes and 15 long-distance bus stations close by going directly to more than ten provincial cities and over 2000 county towns. It is the biggest collecting and distributing market for small commodities.
Jianghan Road Commercial District
The district, just like Wangfujing of Bejing or Nanjing Road of Shanghai, is the busiest commercial district in Wuhan.
