Climate and Weather Zhangjiajie has a subtropical monsoon climate with an annual average temperature of 16.8C, and has 268 frost-free days. Annual rainfall averages 1,382mm. The best tourist seasons include April and October. Never climb a mountain in a rainy day. The best time for viewing a mountain scene is one or two hours after rainfall.
