Jade Peak Monastery
The Jade Peak Monastery sits at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in its south, 13 kilometers away from the ancient town. This small lama monastery is on a hillside about five km past the town of Baisha. Known as thousands of camellias, Yufeng temple was found in the end of Qing dynasty. One of the seven largest monasteries in Lijiang,

In the middle of the northwest courtyard grows a remarkable ancient camellia tree about 500 years old and is famous throughout the country. Yufeng Monastery is renowned for the giant Camellia Tree, planted in Qianlong period of Qing dynastic, that stands in the grounds, and is known as the "Ten-thousand-flower Camellia". The camellia tree is three meters high and the diameter of its stem is 40 centimeters, a size and span rarely seen in the world. It has been reputed as kind of camelia. Ten thousand might be something of an exaggeration, but locals claim that the tree produces at least 4000 between February and April. A monk risked his life to keep the tree secretly watered during the years of the Cultural Revolution.

Built in the last year of the Kangxi Period of the Qing dynasty, it is one of the five important Lamaist temples in Lijiang. The construction of the building is small and exquisite. The layout of the Main Hall is a courtyard consisting of a gate tower, the main hall, and two side halls.
