This Bridge spans the Qiatang River from south to north to connect the major railways between Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo. The bridge was commissioned on 8 August 1934 and opened to traffic on 26 September, 1937. It was designed by Mao Yisheng, a great Chinese engineer. And it was the first of its kind, the double-decked bridge ever built by a Chinese. Pagoda of Six harmonies commands a broad view of the Qiantang River Bridge just like a rainbow above the river creates magnificent scenery.
